Orlando-area Senior Living community is currently seeking an experienced Food Service Director. Candidate must be devoted to meeting the needs of our residents to create a high quality menu. Overseeing all kitchen and dining services within the community, the Food Service Director is responsible for the most important part of resident satisfaction. Your culinary artistry talent will be put to the test from menu planning, to food preparation, to the execution of the fabulous presentation in the dining room. Close attention is paid to every detail to ensure the best dining experience possible. Our Food Service Director takes great pride in creating delicious, high-quality selections with service to match. Key Responsibilities: *Will oversee standard operating procedures *Plans and creates daily menus in advance for the upcoming week *Orders food according to planned menus, budget, and inventory *Partake in food production, and preparation *Adheres strictly to budgeting, preparing monthly spend down *Direct staff supervision of cooks, dishwashers, prep cooks, and dining room manager *Trains, supports, and instructs all new hires *Assists in planning monthly events *Adheres to all sanitary and food safety regulations governing handling and serving of food; *Utilizes policies, procedures, system as per company operations and industry standards; *Communicates with residents nightly to ensure accuracy and resident satisfaction; *Develops, revises, and adapts work techniques and methods to accommodate resident requests/complaints *Conducts daily production meetings with servers to communicate the meals being served *Reviews and evaluates the work performance of kitchen personnel, as well as counsels/disciplines staff according to established company personnel policy *Maintains a clean and sanitary kitchen at all times *Concerns his/herself with the safety of all residents and staff in order to minimize the potential accidents. Ensuring that the kitchen adheres to the legal, safety, health, fire, and sanitation codes *Participates in Monthly Resident meetings including resident council and food committee, providing proven results to suggestions, comments, or concerns *Participates in rotating weekend Manager on Duty shifts, ability to tour prospective residents and/or their family members *Participates in all daily Management meetings *Puts the residents service First. Ensures that residents and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere which recognizes the individuals' needs and rights Ideal Candidate: *Candidate will have a strong culinary background *Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment *Experience in similar setting preferred *Must be self managed with the desire and initiative to implement and effectively manage new procedures *Must have the ability to work as a team * Degree in culinary or related field desired * 5+ years of successful experience in culinary skill * Proven management experience required * Strong public speaking/presentation skills * Exceptional communication skills with peers, superiors and subordinates * Proficient in MS Word, Excel and other management software * Creative and innovative planning skills * Must be ambitious and self-motivated * Must be a success-driven self-starter * Must be articulate and project a presence of success Position is salaried and candidate will be eligible for insurance benefits after the company's introductory period of employment.
