SCC invites qualified candidates to apply for our part-time faculty position to teach Culinary classes this upcoming (Semester/year) semester. Part-time appointments are made on a semester-by-semester (as needed) basis.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Culinary Arts degree or Associates Degree with culinary or hospitality focus,
Four-Six years of in-debt experience or relevant industry experience at a sous chef level or higher, with related management experience), or
A combination of formal education and experience, excellent communications skills, computer literacy, a passion for healthy cooking and nutrition education.
ServeSafe Certification with proctor status required (can be completed during employment if necessary).
Experience: Applicants should have experience in the area of coursework they will be instructing in (Culinary Arts technique, Baking and Pastry skills, presentation and decorating, nutrition.) and experience as an instructor with a culinary program. A high degree of technical ability to relay information in a manner that provides a positive learning experience and instills a passion for the profession. Administrative and technology skills adequate to build course materials. Ability to demonstrate concern and sensitivity toward culinary trainees and their individual needs and learning styles as well as a personal commitment and understanding of nutrition and sustainability.
